Overview

“Ethicondom TOKYO” ?

Ethicondom has held the very first popup event “Ethicondom TOKYO” in a cafe called Shinjuku Dialogue located in Shinjuku, one of the biggest cities in Tokyo. The aim of this popup event is to help visitors to know wider variety of ethical condoms from all over the world in Japan where there is no ethical condoms in its market. In this exhibition, 13 sorts of ethical and sustainable condoms in total were exhibited at the same time from 7 countries. This popup was the very first in-person event by Ethicondom after we launched our team last August in 2021. Unexpectedly, over 120 visitors visited to our popup in one day.

About the popup

Entering the popup

Visitors goes up to the third floor of the building in the center of Tokyo, passing through the cafe area whose theme is SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) and dialogue on the second floor. They were welcomed by the condom gift “Ethicondom condom”, which was designed originally by Ethicondom. Even though we prepared 30 original condoms, those were run out within an hour and a half after the popup opened.

Exhibition

Ethical and sustainable condoms from Germany, South Korea, Australia, Sweden, Japan were displayed randomly. Visitors enjoyed the designs, colors, and names of products through touching, opening freely. They seemed to enjoyed the differences between Japanese protectional products that they have been familiar with.
